Call for Artists from ViewPoint Gallery: What About B.O.B? Artists Bridging the Community Together

Making Art of the Kootenay’s accessible to all though a virtual and outdoor Exhibition.
Featuring the celebrated orange bridge as a theme for the body of work, artists share their connection to the city of Nelson by incorporating the bridge to represent perseverance to keep this well-known artistic community of the Kootenays connected to each other and beyond during this unprecedented time.
We also plan to have the exhibition open Friday – Sunday outside at the gallery (weather permitting) and following government regulations and recommendations.
If you would like to participate in this Exhibition, your work should include B.O.B. in some sort of fashion whether B.O.B. be distant in the background, foreground, super imposed, abstract, on glass, stitched, etched, painted on pottery, or sculptural.
With the added factor of an online exhibition, we are also accepting submissions from digital & visual artists (media, music, film etc.)
This Exhibition is not just for residents of Nelson but open to those who once lived here, attended school or just visited and felt an impact from the city or carried its inspiration with them when they left.
Please also include 3 – 4 sentences describing your meaning behind the piece, your connection to this city or any other details you feel help your piece match this theme.
All selected participants in the exhibition will additionally have their work added to our online shop if applicable.
Submissions open now until June 20th 2020. Exhibition begins July 3rd 2020 running until August 2, 2020.
