Deadline to Apply: Thursday, April 15th, 2021
The Cranbrook and District Arts Council is inviting artists from across the
Kootenays to submit works of art for a juried art exhibit at our new gallery space.
We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for artists to submit three pieces to be featured in our ‘Kootenay’s Best’ exhibit. This is the CDAC’s premiere exhibit at 1401 Art Space, a facility that is a dedicated gallery, workshop and teaching space.
Pieces of two-dimensional wall art will be accepted in any medium (acrylics, oils, mixed media, etc). Any subject matter is appropriate – there are no criteria for the theme and there is a maximum submission of three pieces. Submission forms and photos of artwork must be sent to the Cranbrook and District Arts Council by Thursday, April 15, 2021 at midnight.
Artists from across the Kootenay region are invited to submit their work. This includes, but is not limited to, the following towns and cities:
Cranbrook, Kimberley, Fernie, Creston, Invermere, Sparwood, Radium, Golden, Revelstoke, Salmo, Nelson, Rossland, Kaslo, Castlegar, Trail, Nakusp, New Denver, Ainsworth, Grand Forks, Kootenay Bay and more.
Accepted works will need to be wall ready with wires installed for hanging. All work must arrive at 1401 5th St N in Cranbrook between June 10 and 12, unless other arrangements have been made with the curator. Artists can pick up their work at the same location from September 9th to 11th. Artwork can also be shipped back on these dates.
